Dans un crissement de particules, le sol s’affaisse. La pelle mécanique concasse les derniers blocs de limon. Elle met à jour l’argile enfouie sous la surface, depuis des millions d’années.
Cela fait plusieurs mois déjà que les terres fertiles ont disparu, prélevées, déplacées vers d’autres territoires. Avec leur disparition, les possibilités du vivant se réduisent. La présence des plantes qui nourrissaient et guérissaient s’efface. Ces plantes même qui longtemps furent perçues comme des forces vivantes, "signatures" du grand orchestre du sol, du vent et des astres, des animaux et des humains*.
J’ai arpenté les zones où poussaient ces plantes. Sur chacun de ces sites, j’ai prélevé une poignée de terre avec laquelle j'ai ensuite tiré chaque portrait du lieu, dans un processus photographique inédit : la terrachromie.
Sensibles à la lumière, ces tirages des sols du Plateau de Saclay s’effacent au long de l’exposition, mettant en scène une dernière fois la disparition de ses terres.

In a screech of particles, the ground collapses. The mechanical shovel crushes the last blocks of slit. It reveals to light, the clay buried in the ground, for the past million years.
Since several months now, the fertile soil was ablated, moved to other construction sites and landscaping projects. With the disappearance of this soil, it is a complex ecosystem which thins down. It follows the same with a wide variety of plants, once understood as the "signatures" of the great orchestra of the ground, of the wind and the stars, of the animals and some human beings*.
I walked on the land where these plants until recently kept growing. On each of these sites, I made a portrait of the place and took a handful of soil with which I printed each photograph in a process invented for this endeavour: terrachromic prints.
Sensitive to light, these prints composed from the soils of the Plateau de Saclay will fade throughout the exhibition, staging one last time the disappearance of the lands.
